Our Landscaping Project
We have been in our house for a year now, and for a year I have been trying to keep the garden and grass alive. It hasn't worked. The lack of sprinklers didn't help much either. Getting up at 6 in the morning to run them never really seemed like an option. Then came the weeds. I realized I was fighting a losing battle and decided to give up. I was going to get sprinklers, I was going to get a drip system, I was going to get a new lawn. I was going to get something that would look good without me doing much if anything to it. I was getting landscaping!
As you can see it is a work in progress. I will complete the other side of the yard when I have completed my garage. No point in putting in a new lawn just to thrash it when I build my garage.
Here are some before pictures.

Some work in progress pictures:

It has been almost two months now and the landscaping seems to have settled. Many of the plants are flowering and growing rapidly. The grass is taking less and less water and we are happy with how things have turned out. It has turned out to be a relatively low maintenance garden (apart from the grass and hedges) which is what we wanted. I am looking forward to getting the garage done and the other side of the yard complete, but until then here is where we stand.
